How did your production skills develop throughout this product?

When I first started this product I was unsure about everything that I needed to put on my magazine. After doing all my research on magazines and food magazines specifically, I started to gain more knowledge on what my product should look like. I realized there were a lot of things I needed to do to make sure my product would be wanted by my target audience and that it would be able to sell. My skills have greatly increased after I got feedback on my product. I started out with a basic cover, context, and article. I knew that I needed to be able to grab the readers attention though the words I put on the cover, the colors,and font, and the pictures. Pictures are a key thing when it comes to this product and they need to be varied so the magazine can be more interesting. I've developed a new set of skills to see how a magazine should look like from inside and out. It needs to be colorful, bold, and interesting. After using the feedback I received to make changes to my magazine, I tried to do exactly that. I tried to make my product stand out from the other by using different features I have learned. Locations are extremely important too and for my cover I wanted to do something different and not just have my magazine be based off only one location. My product is now something that my targeted audience will be intrigued by because of my production skills that were used in the main features of my product.

Project Selection- Film

I find film very fascinating and fun to watch. I've started to notice all the editing and filming techniques in movies. Based off the movies I have seen in class, I think it would be a fun project. All the films were well made, I especially loved the Ferris Bueller film. John Hughes was a very creative and hardworking person and his film was unique because Ferris was talking to the audience, but he made it work. He has inspired me to create a film myself. The skills I possess are my creativity and directing skills. I believe that I would be able to successfully direct the beginning of a film. I'm a hard worker and having good planning skills, so I would my dedication into making this film.  A challenge would be the editing process, but I just need to learn more about editing techniques. How does your product use or challenge conventions and how does it represent social groups or issues? My magazine follows many of the same conventions that the other food magazines have. My magazine or any magazine uses conventions to persuade the customer into buying it. Cover: My cover states the most delicious and interesting things, and mentions the amount of recipes that there will be in the magazine. There are Buzzwords on the front cover that will tell the buyer some of the interesting articles that can be found in the magazine. They are free and exclusive and for my target audience and this is used well to attract them.The main image represents the idea of my magazine which is healthy eating. The picture is a low angle shot of produce. It is very vibrant and it is an image that would be appealing to the audience. My Masthead on the cover is very large and bold.
