I chose my article topic as a Dill Salmon recipe because my magazine is about healthy eating and this main course is supposed to be healthy. I make this meal all the time at home and think its pretty good, that's why I decided to use this as my main recipe. It was also super convenient for me to make at home with my mom because we already knew how to make it. For my cover template, I chose this layout because I thought it was simple and had a little pop of color to it. I also think the colors I chose in the cover template compliment each other. Also, I tried utilizing features from other food magazines that I saw. My table of contents layout is also very simple which plays along with my cover. I think it makes it look organized and I really like the top right hand corner where it says "contents" because it adds more color to the page. On the right side are three different meals that I made. For my actual recipes, I planned to have one page dedicated for the main meal and then the second page for the sides. I really like how it turned out. I was able to put a picture on each page and write the recipes on it as well. I chose the blue background to go with my blue theme that I wanted to have. I choose the yellow title because I thought it looked nice with the blue background and I really liked the font that goes with it. I chose these pictures because they have different angles and are really clear photos that show how the food looks like. In other magazines I noticed that they would add a little caption for their meals, so I decided to do the same thing. I added captions on each page to describe something about my dill salmon and sweet potatoes. I think this gives a nice touch and it would persuade the costumer to buy this magazine and make the meal.
