Title: Eat Cheap Eat Healthy
The cover is very colorful. The background is light shade of turquoise blue and there is a huge picture in the center of the page of Pork Tacos with summer salsa, which can be found on page 70. The title is in bold letters "Eat Cheap" which is black and "Eat Healthy" is a little bit smaller font and is is in white. On the top right corner there is an orange box that say diabetic living. On the left hand side there is a heading that says, "so easy" and this is in white in a cursive font. Underneath that it says "shortcuts snacks to help you stay on track" and then gives the page number of where it can be found. On the right side there is more bold headings in white. There is a "carb-smart recipes under $3" heading and then an "eat for a week on $50" heading.
Right away when you up the magazine, the first page is of fruits and vegetables with writing in the middle. It is talking about diabetic living and it is advertising to subscribe to the Living magazine.
Page 1 had the table of contents on it. The word "contents" is a thin font in black letters and is on the right side of the magazine. Underneath it there is a large picture of a shopping cart with a bunch of healthy food in it. This picture takes up most of the page. On the left side is the contents of where you can find everything. There are three headings: Guide, Get cooking, and tasty toppers. These headings are in yellow boxes with black text color. Underneath each of these yellow boxes contain page numbers and then the food items that would be talked about in each section .
On page 34, there is a recipe of two-bean enchilada casserole and spicy black bean and romaine salad with garlic-lime crema. On the left side is a picture of the salad and then the recipe is under the picture. On page 35 the whole page is a picture of the enchilada recipe from page 34. Another recipe is of Cesar chicken drumsticks with rosemary potatoes (pg 43). The picture of this meal is on top of the recipe description. On the left side of this page is another recipe of coconut curry chicken. On page 42 the whole page is a picture of the coconut curry chicken recipe. Each page has this layout. One page has two recipes and then one picture of one of the recipes. The other recipe then takes up the whole entire next page. Another recipe (pg 67) is Banh Mi Sandwiches. This picture takes up the whole page on 66. The second recipe on page 67 is scalloped root vegetables and ham, with the picture of the meal on top.
This magazine doesn't contain any ads, only recipes. there was just the advertisement is the beginning to get you to subscribe to the magazine.
Overall, the magazine is very colorful and has very large and clear pictures. There are all kind of different fonts, sizes and colors when it comes to the writing. Also, the recipes are all very descriptive.
